Fragrant, mellow garlic mingles with tender, juicy beef in every bite. Grilled polenta makes the perfect accompaniment.

Estimated Times
Preparation Time: 15  mins.
Cooking Time: 36  mins.

1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup peeled, finely chopped garlic cloves
1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 pounds thick-cut boneless beef top sirloin steaks

HEAT oil in small, nonstick skillet over low heat. Cook garlic, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until tender. Add green onions; increase heat to medium-low. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until green onions are crisp-tender. Stir in salt and pepper. Remove from heat; let cool.

PREHEAT grill.

TRIM excess fat from steaks. Cut each steak horizontally three-fourths of the way through the meat creating a pocket, being careful to not cut all the way through. Spoon cooled garlic mixture into pockets, spreading evenly. Secure with wooden picks.

GRILL steaks over medium-low heat, turning once halfway through, for 26 to 32 minutes or to desired doneness. Remove wooden picks; slice steaks into 1/2-inch-thick slices.

Comments: Wonderful! My husband thought it came from a gourmet resturant! i made a few adjustments though, i followed the recipe as is... but added some roasted garlic to the stuffing mixture, then broiled it for a few minutes. right before it was done i put blue cheese on top for an extra kick! accompanied by some sauted mushroms ont he side. a little more work... but VERY WELL WORTH IT! My husband ate enough of this steak for 4 people! an absolute must make again recipe!!!! my 3 year old liked it to (she did pick most of the garlic out though) MUST TRY THIS RECIPE!!

Comments: This is an awesomely easy & delicous recipe! You need to make a ton more of the garlic filling though. The amount that is made from this recipe is only enough to fill on tiny corner of the steak pocket! I used a whole garlic bunch last time I made it and that did the trick.

Comments: This recipe is very easy and impressive. We cooked 4 steaks with the amount of garlic mixture for 12 steaks and they turned out AWESOME. Great with a light salad and would probably make wonderful left overs had we not eaten it all for supper.

Comments: This was a different cut of meat than we usually grill, and we found it both tasty and tender. I made the filling several hours ahead and put it in the fridge till supper time. It did take quite a while to cook - since it was so thick. So we grilled it on low and shut the lid so it wouldn't get burned on the outside and still be raw on the inside. I used a meat thermometer to be sure it was done in the center. Even my picky kids ate this (okay, they picked off the filling, but gobbled the steak). I served it with sweet and sour zucchini (recipe on this site) and garlic bread for a nice no fuss summer dinner.

Comments: I have been taking this recipe for our poker night for about 3 months now and no matter how much I take it lasts about 20-30 minutes and it is gone. I doubled the filling mixture because it just didnt seem to be enough. To the person who posted this recipe thanks a bunch.

Comments: Good choice, I didn't have a thick slice of beef which I definitely recommend. It was complicated getting the onions/garlic to stay put even after using the toothpicks but the overall flavor was excellent. Would recommend trying it.

Comments: I thought this took too long to prepare and I was disappointed. I couldn't really taste the garlic. If making this I recommend using a really good grade of steak but personally would not go through the trouble of making this again.

Comments: This dish was ok. I went especially to a meat market to get a sirloin steak big enough and spent all that time cutting the garlic and onion and I couldn't even taste it. It took way longer to cook and my steak was only 2 lbs not 3. I would not go through the trouble again.

Comments: I was looking for recipes to fit our low carb diet and came across the Garlic-Stuffed Sirloin. Since we planned on having sirloin that night, we decided to try the recipe. My husband thought the recipe called for green pepper. When he realized it needed green onion he added that too. It was a great mistake! the sirloin was juicy and tender and the garlic, onion and green pepper added a wonderful flavor to the meat. This recipe is now a favorite in our house.

Comments: Hubby & I are in Weight Watchers & this was GREAT! If the garlic is too overpowering, try using the minced garlic in the jar-1 or 2 T. I marinated this in Hickory Smoked marinade *I marinated it BEFORE stufing*. Then, grill! EXCELLENT!

Comments: This was very easy and so wonderful. We are discriminating eaters and the onion, garlic base was very tasty. Would not change a thing. In fact, we reheated the meat and topped on salads for next day quickie.

Comments: We loved this recipe. I cut down on the garlic (by 1/2) and added chopped, cooked muchrooms. There still was a nice garlic flavor but not as overpowering. Plan to fix this next time we have friends over.

Comments: Very tasty. I'm not a steak person so usually I have to drown mine in steak sauce but the flavor with this was so amazing that I didn't reach for the bottle once. I've made this twice now, once on the grill and once with the broiler. The grill definitely turned out better but if the broiler is all you've got it's definitely worth trying. This is my favorite recipe so far on Meals.com.

Comments: I made this following the exact directions. Both me and my husband thought it was "too tasty". The garlic nearly knocked us over. I would not make this again. I would however use the other person's suggestion of putting in mushrooms. I think that would be nice.

Comments: I've made this recipe many times before, and I whole-heartedly agree with everyone else - it's hard to beat this recipe. But I thought I'd share an experience with people who are going to try this recipe. To make this cook quicker, I tried grilling on the George Foreman grill. Not that the grill is bad, or anything (I use it with many other dishes), but because there isn't too much heat control, my steaks turned out over-cooked and rubbery. So treat these steaks with great care, and they will be good to you! Enjoy!

Comments: This is an amazing recipe! I didn't have green onions, so I substituted some red-onion. I also used a thinner steak, and just adjusted the bbq time. Very good! I wrapped some bacon around the steaks, which added an amazing flavour too! My husband loved it, so I'll definately be making this again!

Comments: What a great tasting dish! Let me note that I used a slightly cheaper but equally thick steak than the one listed on the recipe. This recipe was so fast & easy. The only part that was a little difficult was cutting the steak. I kept cutting thru to the bottom, but this was easily solved with the toothpicks. And, miraculously it all stayed together. I served it with long grain & wild rice. I fried some sliced mushrooms & mixed it into the rice & poured some over the steak for a fancier look. I served baked potatoes with this as well. It was a good looking meal -wonderful!
