Comments: Absolutely the worst recipe i have gotten off this site, and i have been very pleased so far. The chicken was fine, but the sauce was horrible. I took other reviewers advice on dipping chicken in sauce, still horrible. I did everything i could think of to make the sauce taste better, but had to through it away. I ended up covering the chicken with BBQ sauce.

Comments: This is a good recipe, but for added flavor to the chicken as a suggestion, add a little lemon pepper to the chicken before frying. it gives it a little more kick with the sweet flavor of the sauce.

Comments: In college we decided to expand our menu past mac n chez and top ramen. This website has been very helpful on that key. The sauce was a little to sweet one of my roomates dipped and the other opp out of the whole sauce. My stemed Cauliflower with brown butter made the meal. Overall a good meal. Will not make the sauce again.

Comments: I opted for chicken thighs instead, because I don't like the dryness of breast meat. I made the sauce first adding garlic, cranberry juice, and chipotle sauce, then diced up the chicken and cooked it in the sauce. While it was cooking, the sauce didn't seem to taste very good, but after the chicken finished & I tried them together, it was pretty good. I'll most likely make it again this way.

I premeasured out the ingredients ahead of time and before you know it we were done and ready for dinner 5/11/2006 . We enjoyed cooking this recipe together. The Lime sauce was the hit over the chicken. Needless to say we all agreed to have it again. Now I can add the recipe to my daliy meal planning.

I also sautee'd onions and mushrooms with the chicken, and then placed the chicken back in the sauce and let it simmer for about 5 mins. We served ours over brown rice, and it tasted like I had slaved in the kitchen for hours. I highly reccomend this for an easy yet delicious weeknight dinner!

Comments: I really enjoyed this sauce. It was simple, had very few ingredients, and was quick. I marinated my chicken and cooked it in a pan with sauteed onions and garlic, then took the chicken out to keep warm and made the sauce with the onions and garlic in it. I substituted the apple juice with Guava juice as I saw someone else tried it that way, and it was delicious! Just treat it like any other sauce and season to taste. It was something different to kick up our chicken, without being too wild for our tastebuds. I will definitely be using this recipe again.

Comments: I have to admit I was nervous as to how this recipe would turn out after reading all the mixed reviews on it. Turns out, as long as you use some common cooking sense, this recipe can be pretty good.
The nice thing about this being cooked on the stove-top is that you can taste as you're cooking and modify as needed. Of course you need to SEASON THE CHICKEN before you cook it. I seasoned mine with salt, pepper, garlic, and lemon juice.
As for the sauce, you definitely have to taste to make sure you like how much lime or apple juice is in it. If it's not thick enough for you... add more corn starch! I didn't have a lime, so I used a lemon & it turned out just fine. When the sauce was ready, I let the chicken simmer in it until the rice & vegetables were finished cooking.
Overall, this chicken was pretty good... just needs a little attention to the cooking part. It has kind of an almost oriental taste to it and therefore TASTES GREAT OVER RICE with the sauce soaked in.

Comments: I substituted Guava juice for Apple and added some seasoning to the chicken. It was quite good. The lime added a tangy flavor which I liked. I just baked the chicken in the microwave in a covered dish, sliced and applied sauce. It was quick and easy, and requires only a few ingredients. It's worth fixing again.

Comments: Overall, this is a pretty decent low fat meal. I think next time I'm going to marinate and grill the chicken instead, and cut down on the lime juice. It just seemed like the chicken was too bland, and the sauce was too limey, and they didn't balance each other out the way they should have. Someone else here mentioned adding some brown sugar to the sauce, and that would probably be a good idea. It was so tart that my husband cringed every time he took a bite. ;-)

Comments: I made this recipe twice. The first time was according to the recipe and the flavors just didn't mesh well. The boullion cube overwhelmed the taste of everything else!
The second time I omitted the boullion cube completely and used seasalt, white pepper and a little cilantro. Much better!
One problem that I had was finding truly fresh limes. Getting good citrus is harder and harder to do. I think one reason why so many people have been complaining about bitterness is that the fresh-appearing limes in the store are usually not fresh at all, and are bitter tasting. A natural foods store will be able to get organic limes that are fresh. They are more expensive, but the taste is much better.

And this recipe provided one that will be repeated!! The only difference I used boneless chicken breast and on one side of the chicken I sprinkeled a little of McCormick 1Step Chicken Seasoning Lemon Herb Chicken, to give the chicken a little more umph:) The sauce was just right, I am not a big fan of lime or lemon flavor but the applejuice made it not so overpowering, I recommend this recipe for everyone!! Comments: I was really excited to try this recipe, but I must admit that I was a bit disappointed with the results. The sauce, if made as the recipe suggests, is too tangy. I softened the tanginess by adding heavy cream. That helped a lot. I like the lime idea, so I will make it again...but with changes. I will use little or no applejuice. I will simply use the lime, a bit of sweet wine, chicken brother and heavy cream. The apple juice just makes it taste strange. It doesn't "go" with the lime. Some suggested substituting applesauce...that might be worth a try. My husband liked the end result...but he would not have liked it without the changes that I made. Good Luck!

I chilled the sauce in the refrig, made a bad of mixed greens and romaine lettuce, heated the sliced the chicken into 1/2" strips, cross grain, set thm on top, poured the chilled sauce over as a dressing, and served with sesame breadsticks and White Zin. Then added the chicken that was cut up a bit. Then added the onion powder, a bit more garlic, and salt and pepper. When the chicken was done I pulled it out and then added the sauce ingredients, but left the onions in. I added the paprika, cream, added three tablespoons Tequila (like the tequila), and added two large limes instead of one.
Served it with corn bread that had jalepeno cheese mixed into it, steamed broccoli, scalloped potatoes. My wife said it was hands down the best meal I have cooked for her in the history of our relationship... enjoy!

Comments: My boyfriend cooked me this after a long day at school, and it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. It only takes a half an hour or so from start to finish, and it's a healthy, cheap meal! I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Comments: Living by myself in a single apartment, I find that cooking chicken is the best type of meat for a single person. But, after cooking chicken every other day started to become boring because I never added anything special to it. This recipe is great for people who are looking for something different than their plain, old, cooked chicken! It adds a nice zing! Although, I use less apple juice to bring out the lime more...

Comments: This was ok, but not a good family recipe,I just thought it was ok, the lime and the apple juice is not the best combination. My 3 children did not eat it, however, my husband and I ate it, but I won't cook it again.

Comments: This recipe is tast preffered. My husband's thinks this is the best chicken he has ever eaten. While I like it but it can be too tart. But it does add good flavor to the chicken, especially if you add garlic and lime juice to the chicken beofore cooking it.

Comments: I did not have the apple juice so I used hard apple cider instead! The sauce is a little tarte, maybe because I used the cider! Next time I will add a little honey to offset the tartness. Served with some Jasmine Rice! Deeelish!

Comments: I am very sorry for the person that came up with this recipe, but this was the worst thing I had put in my mouth since I was an infant on formula.... It tasted like baby food on top of some chicken. We actually washed the chicken off & used it for something else... This was horrible and deserved -5 stars..but that option isn't there...
Good Luck to everyone else with it..

Comments: I enjoyed this recipe, but I don't think it was necessary to cook the chicken in the skillet. The key is the sauce. Go ahead and cook the chicken on a grill or the George Foreman. Then, top with the sauce (which is delicious)!

Comments: This dish I made for my mothers birthday. Everyone at the table enjoyed it. It was very simple to make. The hardest part for me was making the sauce. I let it cook a little to long and I did not have enough sauce for my portion of the meal. My girlfriend suggests that you put a little bit of ginger in the sauce.

If you want to live on the wild side and take a chance with your life, add ½ tbl. of red pepper flakes.
